Police Department of District Khanewal aims at providing equality of service delivery to the community in prevention and detection of crime and to maintain the Law and Order situation in the district. It is committed to the principles of justice, equality, integrity and respect for all. We strive for law enforcement in conformity with international norms and best practices.

   

The Khanewal Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a ceremony for distribution of commendation shields to the policemen who performed well in the recent three-month anti-criminals campaign.Addressing the ceremony, DPO Jahanzeb Nazir Khan said that he and his entire police team were feeling proud, adding that his efforts had born fruit for improving police image in the society and pledged to make it a crime-free district.

   

The DPO added that during the recent anti-criminals campaign, the district police captured dozens of criminal gangs involved in dacoities, robberies, murders while more than five dacoits were killed in police encounters. He appreciated the policemen for their outstanding performances. He said that he was very grateful to the trader chamber for hosting the event.  On the occasion, DCO Usman Muazzam said that the district administration was spending huge amount for development of the district. He said that in sports stadium upgradaton project, work was in progress while the sport gymnasium was in final stages for completion.

The DCO added that In DHQ Hospital, a trauma centre had been established for emergency cases. He also appreciated the district police for their remarkable performance against criminals. Chamber President Inam Queshi, Secretary General Ashraf Paracha in their speeches assured the district government that they will continue the better working relationship with the district administration and the police to make the district a model.Former provincial minister Haji Irfan Ahmad said that the protection of people and justice for all was the top priority of the government and it was sincere to eliminate terrorism and other crises as soon as possible. He also appreciated the efforts of the district police for launching the campaign against criminals and proclaimed offenders.

Addressing the gathering, MPA Nishat Ahmad Daha said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was cornered about the law and order situation. Daha added, “We are forming crime-control committees at union council level to monitor the situation. He urged the civil society to assist the district police as well as the administration to minimise crime rate. Praising the police performance during the three-month campaign, he added that these commendation shields would keep fresh the sweet memories and love of the residents of the city. A large number of people from civil society, representatives of traders and others also attended the ceremony.
